Knight's Gauntlet

A sturdy piece of victorian armor he "borrowed" from his mothers house, it primarily acts as a way to augment his punches and protect himself making up for places where he cannot easily dodge attacks with his speed due to his personas alignment towards spells. He utilizes an "In Fighting" Boxing style both inside and outside of confrontations with shadows.

Shu comes off as he looks. A rather obnoxious, overly excited and chipper little kid with the attention span of a squirrel. This is for the most part true, he's incredibly happy go lucky and can be easily bored yet friendly when he's around strangers or new people. He tends to be a pretty light hearted person upon getting to know him better, he's constantly bouncing with energy and this can be off putting to some. This goes hand to hand with his cocky nature and he's not one to openly refuse a challenge once he's been coaxed into one or asked for one himself. However he's very helpful and hopefully earnest when he sees someone suffering or in trouble he tends to try to counsel them with what little advise that he possesses.

Shu spent much of his childhood in study, tucked away in a small apartment in Kobe. His mother home schooled him from the moment he could talk and walk, because of this he always felt isolated and hated the moments where she would leave him in their apartment with nothing but a book in front of his face. he was expected to have a grasp on things someone his age probably wouldn't need to know until much later in their lives. This pressure was reinforced by the few moments of sweetness his mother would show him, trips to the market, home made baking. On his twelfth birthday however, he came to a realization, the way she would treat him kindly, only to snatch it away when he failed the tests she had given him, her systematic studying routine and her detached attitude when forced to deal with his failure. He was nothing more than cattle to her, a merchandise that she hoped to reap a sizeable profit from, a dog to be bred and groomed for her own betterment, the origins of how he had been born all pointed to this.

Was he just a doll then? just a construct who didn't even have a right to decide his own purpose? he spun around with these questions in his head at a young age, the more he tried to think the more it hurt, so he stopped. Withdrawing from his mother and her lessons he shut his mind off and became absorbed in the little square box that was his only other source of light in his room. When his mother took that from him, he simply left the house and watched elsewhere. When that failed he retreated into his own mind, tired of him his mother decided to send him to a well recommended school. Shu initially planned to flunk the schools entrance exam in order to spite her, however he met someone that ended up changing his mind his first friend. Toshiro Kamikawa despite initially wanting to just annoy him because of how pessimistic he looked--Shu somehow ended up liking him--it was a strange feeling--despite being scolded by toshiro--or called an idiot. Everything about Toshiro was honest. There wasn't some ulterior motive in the way he talked. He didn't try to use him, It was strange, truly strange. Could he be like that? Suddenly the words just welled up in his chest. "Let's be friends!"
